Following earlier introduction in November 2008, the latest global navigation satellite correction system from Fugro based on GPS and Glonass (G2) is now declared operational and available for hire. G2 is taking precise orbit and clock augmentation services one step further by combining GPS and Glonass satellite signals into a single integrated solution. G2 is based on dedicated Fugro reference stations and is independent from the other Fugro satellite navigation systems. G2 has the same high performance and high accuracy as Fugro XP and HP services and the additional number of satellites gives much improved independency, robustness and availability of satellite navigation. The correction signals are transmitted via more than a dozen high power communication satellites giving coverage in any region of the world with at least two independent communication channels.
