Job Description

Do you want to join our Geo-data revolution? Fugro’s global reach and unique know-how will put the world at your fingertips. Our love of exploration and technical expertise help us to provide our clients with invaluable insights. We source and make sense of the most relevant Geo-data for their needs, so they can design, build, and operate their assets more safely, sustainably, and efficiently. But we’re always looking for new talent to take the next step with us. For bright minds who enjoy meaningful work and want to push our pioneering spirit further. For individuals who can take the initiative but work well within a team.

The role:

Fugro is experiencing exciting growth and expansion, and we are on the lookout for an ambitious and motivated Senior Project Manager to join our Nearshore Team at the Falmouth, Cornwall Hub. Our Nearshore Team delivers geotechnical ground investigation projects across the UK and Europe, focusing on renewable and infrastructure industries. Your work will align with Fugro’s values, contributing to the decarbonisation of our planet and creating a safer, more liveable world for future generations.

As a driven Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for the preparation, delivery, and management of nearshore site investigation projects from tender award to final delivery. Under the supervision of the Project Delivery Manager, you will either work as part of a project team or manage your own projects. You will oversee the delivery phase, supervising Nearshore drill teams and engineers on exciting projects both in the UK and abroad, with a mix of on-site and office-based work. Additionally, you will ensure adherence to Health & Safety standards set by Fugro and our clients, drafting method statements, risk assessments, and lift plans to facilitate efficient and safe operations, fostering a positive health and safety culture. This role will require occasional travel to site for around 1 week at a time, working Nearshore/Offshore, with some office-based responsibilities.

Who we’re looking for:

We seek a Senior Project Manager with a solid background in Geotechnical Site Investigations and proven success in Project Management. You should have a comprehensive understanding of all project phases and possess strong people management skills. Your ability to lead and inspire a team is crucial, as is your versatility to thrive in an environment where no two days are the same.

You will have an active involvement in preparing and delivering projects, demonstrating curiosity, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities as challenges arise. As part of the senior project team, you will have a sound knowledge of commercial practices, contract management, and the ability to provide insightful assessments on key business deliverables. Identifying business opportunities and demonstrating strong financial awareness, you will reflect on profit, loss, and added value.

Your proven success in working collaboratively with peers, colleagues, and partners will positively impact business performance. You will possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to persuade and negotiate effectively. As a Senior Project Manager, you will empower, motivate, and connect people, creating a positive impact. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CAD software is essential.

What we offer:

Fugro provides a positive work environment as well as projects that will satisfy the most curious minds. We also offer great opportunities to stretch and develop yourself. By giving you the freedom to grow faster, we think you’ll be able to do what you do best, better. Which should help us to find fresh ways to get to know the earth better. We encourage you to be yourself at Fugro. So, bring your energy and enthusiasm, your keen eye and can-do attitude. But bring your questions and opinions too. Because to be the world’s leading Geo-data specialist, we need the strength in depth that comes from a diverse, driven team.

  • Extensive career & training opportunities both nationally and internationally.

  • Competitive salary accompanied by an attractive package including contributory pension scheme & Life Assurance

  • Flexible working hours and the potential to work 2 days a week from home in accordance with your manager and corporate policies.

  • Site Allowances

  • Option to lease an electric car.

  • Private Medical Insurance

  • Cycle to work Scheme.

  • Discounted gym membership.

Our view on diversity, equity, and inclusion

Crucially, we believe that getting this right brings a sense of belonging, of safety and acceptance, that makes us feel more connected to Fugro’s purpose ‘together we create a safe and liveable world’ – and to each other.
