The role

The successful candidate will ensure both effective and efficient execution of the agreed work in such a way that the QHSE, technical, commercial and contractual requirements are met. You will lead a project team to achieve optimal balance between cost, time, quality, benefit and risk on projects of complexity. Potentially you will be involved in the support on projects of higher complexity and will support the proposal development process.

You will be involved with the coordination and collaboration with a range of technical specialists and support functions to ensure that the correct support mechanisms and specialist knowledge are used to make and deliver an effective project delivery. You will potentially use an issue escalation route via Project Delivery Managers, Project Directors and Service line managers as required.

You will plan, organise, control, co-ordinate, lead, motivate, delegate and communicate effectively to achieve optimal balance between cost, time, quality, benefit and risk.

You will lead and coordinate project teams and drive a positive safety culture. You will create suitable project governance, communication lines and clarity on project roles and responsibilities to enable team members to deliver their full potential.

You will be involved with developing project documentation including project execution plans, risk management plans and internal performance plans in consultation with key stakeholders. You will lead the process of identifying and mitigating project risk and exploiting opportunity in close collaboration with the business development, proposal development, technical and operational staff who may be involved.

Monitor project budgets, schedules and performance and uses the intelligence to take action to mitigate risk and exploit opportunity. You will maintain a financial forecast, measures the value of work in progress and ensures cash flow is maximised.

Communicate project progress and issues effectively with clients, internal partners and sub-contractors; fostering a harmonious relationship. Plans and ensures clarity and understanding of communication routes in a project.

You will also be involved in the supports elements across the Fugro project lifecycle which may include leading and supporting on proposals to effectively plan projects and apply lessons.

Who we’re looking for:

The ideal candidate is expected to have achieved or is working towards a Project Management Qualification such as Prince II, PMQ or PMP.

Excellent communicator (i.e. verbally and written) with the ability to target communication style to various internal and external stakeholders.

Computer literate, with proficient use of Office 365 software, particularly Word, Excel and Microsoft Project.
