We are looking to recruit an experienced Advisor- Climate and Nature who will be key in expanding our regional footprint as part of the MEI Strategic Sales and Marketing under the Water market which includes Inland Water, Coastal Resilience and Ocean Health. You will be taking the lead in key priority markets including (coastal) flood risk and protection, nature-based solutions, ecosystem conservation and restoration. As the driving force behind our Climate and Nature initiatives, your task will encompass shaping strategies and leading their development within our MEI Strategic Sales & Marketing team. You demonstrate ambition and energy to expand into new markets and client types, this will involve 30-50% regional traveling.

Your comprehensive understanding of diverse markets, coupled with your vigilance in tracking industry trends, regulations, and emerging prospects, sets you apart. You have exceptional business development, client management skills and an understanding of the Geo-data value chain in Climate & Nature programmes.

Job responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in the MEI region, in line with the MEI SSM Strategy and goals with a focus on the WATER market and climate-related services.

  • Understand and navigate the entire value chain, from mapping the baseline to modelling vulnerability monitoring change, providing decision support tools, and offering geo-data consultancy services.

  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams to ensure the seamless execution of projects and delivery of high-quality solutions to clients.

  • Maintain a pragmatic and client-focused approach, ensuring customer satisfaction and building long-term relationships.

  • Possess a deep understanding of the MEI market, staying abreast of industry trends, regulations, and emerging opportunities.

  • Demonstrate ambition and energy to expand into new markets, contributing to the overall growth strategy of the company.

  • Develop regional projects as part SSM and their strategic goals together with a focus on Climate & Nature go-to-market strategy in priority markets resulting in a regional 2025 backlog of coastal flood risk mapping projects of >15M EUR.

What Skills and Experience Will you Have?

  • Deep understanding of geo-data and its applications in Climate & Nature markets.

  • Exceptional business development and client management skills.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. Capable of thought leadership and enhancing the Fugro brand.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

  • Analytical mindset with hunger for identifying and pursuing new opportunities.

  • Adaptability and willingness to take on new challenges.

Additional Preferred Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of Fugro’s WATER market and Climate and Nature ambitions.

  • Familiarity with carbon markets, nature-based solutions and marine spatial planning, and experience in related projects.

  • Knowledge of the broader climate and nature sectors.

  • Understanding of the Geo-data value chain (map-model-monitor).

  • Background in consultancy.
