Job Description

We are looking for a talented and experienced Product Manager to lead the modernization of our flagship marine product, the Starfix Navigation and Survey Orchestration Suite.

Starfix is Fugro’s software platform for offshore survey operations and is known for its flexibility and scalability. It provides common positioning, navigation, and QC functions while also supporting a ‘solution’ plug-in architecture, allowing the development of functionalities serving specific markets to be developed as plug-ins.

In this position, you’ll be the linchpin connecting two vital aspects of our product ecosystem. On one hand, you’ll drive the product to better serve its end users in the era of remote operations, uncrewed vessel operations and digital workflows. On the other hand, you’ll be the bridge to other product teams, enabling them to innovate and build upon a robust framework offered by Starfix.

Your role

  • Understand the user’s needs, establish business cases, and translate these needs into a product vision, OKRs, development roadmap and investment plan for the product;

  • Collaborate and build strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders, from designers and developers to sister product managers, operation managers, customer care, and leadership;

  • Collaborate with and support sister product managers who are building products which leverage the Starfix framework;

  • Assist in defining and responsible for managing the product’s budget;

  • Develop a culture where improvements are released frequently and with high quality and where product performance monitoring is automated, which will assist in driving continuous improvement;

  • Bring technical and operational knowledge to the Innovation team to support the creation of user stories, prioritization of backlog, and provide feedback to the development team;

  • Oversee the Innovation Agile process for the product, ensuring demonstration, planning, testing and implementation activities run to expectation;

Your track record

  • You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field;

  • You have experience managing a product that serves both end users and sister product teams;

  • You showcase strong commercial and financial acumen and can translate strategy into a realistic, timely, and cost-effective plan;

  • You have a strong drive for innovation and experience in the development of complex software products, including some combination of those employing microservices, containers, distributed processes, and real-time architectures.

  • You have proven stakeholder management skills;

  • You showcase strong cross-cultural awareness, the ability to effectively communicate and build relationships at all levels, and excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written);

  • Fluent in product discovery, design thinking, and A/B testing;

  • Experience with marine survey software and use cases will be a significant advantage.

What Fugro offers

  • A competitive salary;

  • 29 holidays per year based on a fulltime employment (of which 4 are appointed by Fugro management) and the possibility to purchase 12 additional days;

  • Extensive career & training opportunities both nationally and internationally;

  • Flexible working hours and the ability to work from home in accordance with your manager and corporate policies;

  • Commuting allowance;

  • Modern pension scheme;

  • Collective health insurance;

  • Possibility to register with our corporate fitness plan;

  • Coaching options through our EAP (Employee Assistance Program).
