Job Description

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Business Development Manager to join our growing, land characterisation service line. This role is based in our Perth office, in collaboration with our Brisbane based team, you will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Identify potential business opportunities, generate leads and sales of Fugro’s innovative solutions using a broad range of technology in geo investigations incorporating geospatial, geophysics and geotechnical;

  • Lead the promotion of the company’s approach, capabilities and resources through client contact, presentation and promotional documentation to deliver customer satisfaction and maintain relationships;

  • Develop sales and marketing strategies while liaising with the regional Business Development team and colleagues to raise the corporate profile, brand awareness and increase invitations to tender;

  • Work closely with the Service Line Management and Commercial teams to ensure the smooth coordination of the estimation to the bidding process;

  • Build the revenue base via increased sales and marketing efforts to increase contract opportunities and meet sales targets.

This role is part of Fugro’s Land team of experts, who provide consulting and project startup to our clients within the fields of geotechnical and geospatial.

Some of our recent projects have included:

  • Geotechnical site investigation

  • Underground drilling

  • Geo monitoring

  • Deformation monitoring as part of land and spatial surveying

About You

We are looking for someone who can build rapport quickly and is able to listen to clients and understand their needs. A self-starter who works well autonomously, as well as collaboratively.

Your success in securing this role will require:

  • Tertiary degrees or relevant industry experience in geo-data, geotechnical engineering, geospatial or surveying;

  • Solid understanding of earth investigation techniques and deliverables aligned with the geo-data industry and related fields as above;

  • Strong interpersonal skills in client interfacing, relationships management and proposals/tendering are highly beneficial;

  • Demonstrating problem-solving skills with a passion for technologies to understand different concepts and solve clients’ problems.
