Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the set-up and operation of survey equipment on, and/or leading, projects of medium to high complexity.

  • This may include responsibility for the execution of some positioning and navigation and data acquisition tasks.

  • Ultimately responsible for: the set-up, interfacing, networking, testing, operation, repair, and maintenance of survey equipment; the compilation of engineering/survey reports; and the appropriate QC of data and reports.

  • Responsible for all engineering-related aspects of the project, including the supervision/training of more junior team members.

Requirements:

Preference will be given to candidates who:

  • Has a university degree in electronic or electrical engineering

  • Proven offshore experience (3 years min) in either marine geophysical (analogue and / or digital) survey acquisition, or marine subsea construction / positioning – or preferably both. It is expected that this would have been in support of the marine oil & gas, offshore wind farm, hydrographic, or submarine cable industries.

  • Proven experience with surface and subsea positioning systems as a minimum, and preferably also subsea analogue or digital seismic survey data acquisition systems.

  • AUV operational and payload systems experience is highly desirable.

  • Good ability in verbal and written English (technical) language is required.
