Job Description

The best decision is an informed decision. That’s why we deliver the power of Geo-data into your hands – so you’ll be equipped with expert insights and advice. How do we collect this data? Through mapping and surveying our built and natural environment, from the depths of the ocean all the way to space. Our capabilities include aerial mapping, satellite monitoring and mapping, geospatial GIS solutions and more. After collection, we transform the data into valuable information and solutions. So you can be sure your assets or infrastructure is designed, built, and operated safely and sustainably.

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of geospatial projects that align with Fugro’s strategic business objectives.  You will be responsible for overseeing all phases of project life cycle and mentor, coach, and train junior project managers.  You will be responsible for monitoring and reporting project adherence to budget, schedule, and quality to senior executives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.

  • Assist in preparation of proposals, and presentations to potential clients, manage client contracts, and assist in project estimating, setup, and delivery.

  • Coordinate project teams, calculate and report revenue recognition, work with finance teams for invoicing tasks, and perform project closeout meetings and reports.

  • Monitor client expectations and project performance, using the latest tracking tools, and assess project risks throughout the project life cycle for successful project performance.

  • Develop the necessary reporting and communication tools and provide effective, timely, and informative communication to clients throughout the project cycle.

  • Perform final closeout and lessons learned of projects in accordance with quality system requirements, as well as customer satisfaction surveys and follow up on activities to support marketing.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Geospatial Sciences, Remote Sensing, Photogrammetry, or civil/geotechnical engineering is highly preferred.

  • Minimum 5+ years of successful project management experience in the geospatial, or related field, with exposure to client management with primary responsibility for client relationships.

  • Strong understanding of project management tools and approaches to complex, multi-disciplinary projects from inception, delivery, close-out, customer satisfaction, and follow up.  Has managed multiple complex projects concurrently for a diverse range of commercial and Federal clients.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification/designation desirable or the ability to achieve PMP certification in the first 2 years of employment.

  • Must have reasonable technical knowledge and project management skills to be able to make sound project decisions and to guide and direct project teams through multiple full project cycles concurrently.

  • Experience managing Federal Government Geospatial projects is highly preferred

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Power Point, Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Must have experience with CRM tools

  • Currently hold a valid driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle record for domestic travel and valid passport for international travel when required.

  • Experience within the power industry, and/or elevation derived hydrography (EDH) and geophysical projects is a plus.
