The Americas Regional IT is part of Fugro’s global IT Infrastructure and Security team, we provide IT support to all our offices in the region. Our Support team is distributed across different offices in different countries but are working together as one and provides 1st and 2nd line IT support through our 24/7 Services Support Desk. We are currently looking for an enthusiastic IT Technology Support Engineer to fill our Support team in the US.

As the IT Technology Support Engineer for the Americas region, your role is pivotal in maintaining the stability, security, and performance of our organization’s IT infrastructure. You serve as the local support for the data center and IT support focal point for the entire Americas Region, including the United States, Canada, Brazil, Trinidad, and Mexico. Your responsibilities involve configuring, monitoring, and maintaining servers and network devices, while also meticulously documenting procedures and adhering to change management protocols.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.

  • Requirements Gathering and Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into functional requirements for software applications.

  • System Configuration and Customization: Configure and customize applications to meet business requirements, including setting up user interfaces, workflows, and data fields.

  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Develop and execute test plans to ensure applications meet quality standards, using both manual and automated testing.

  • User Support and Training: Troubleshoot issues, answer questions, and provide effective training to end-users.

  • Documentation: Create and maintain user manuals, technical specs, and system diagrams for better understanding and support.

  • Network Management: Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot network devices (routers, switches), manage VPNs, and optimize network performance.

  • Server Management/Virtualization: Maintain server hardware and OS (e.g., Windows Server, Linux), implement backups, and manage virtualized environments.

  • Change Management: Handle system updates, enhancements, and migrations with minimal disruption.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify process improvement opportunities.

Job Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.

  • High school diploma is required. Bachelors in Information Technology, engineering or equivalent is preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 years of working in networking infrastructure.

  • Must have comprehensive understanding of IT Infrastructure.

  • Cisco Certification, i.e. CCNA, CCNP are a plus.

  • Pro-active, dynamic, dedicated, and responsible self-starter with strong customer orientation and multi-tasking capabilities.

  • Possess the ability to appropriately prioritize and plan complex work in a rapidly changing environment.

  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills - demonstrating outside-the-box problem solving skills.

  • Willingness to travel up to 20% if required.
