About the role

His day-to-day responsibilities shall include the following, but not limited to:

  • Utilise their knowledge and experience in support of the day-to-day operational technical equipment needs of the Geophysical, Geotechnical, Hydrographic, and Coastal Resilience survey businesses within the Marine Site Characterisation (MSC) business line for the Fugro Asia Pacific (APAC) region.

  • Manage the company internal owned technical asset inventory, along with any third-party external hired equipment needed to support the offshore projects. ERM is to ensure that all 3rd party equipment is vetted prior on hire to ensure reliability during project phase.

  • Directly supervise the electronic / electrical / hydraulic Workshop Leads and teams responsible for maintaining, servicing, and calibrating the technical equipment resource pool. The ERM shall be responsible to organise necessary 3rd Party contractors for supporting the equipment maintenance in the warehouse / workshops.

  • Coordinate with the Vessel Resource Manager and offshore personnel & engineering teams for providing technical support for troubleshooting & Planned Maintenance (PMS design, revision & compliance), any regular hardware calibration scheduling plans and compliance, all towards ensuring efficient, effective, and reliable equipment performance on offshore projects.

  • Coordinate with Service Line and Operations Managers on long-term technical equipment resourcing strategies, and annual CAPEX planning and procurement.

  • Prepare annual OPEX budgets for maintenance of the equipment. Together with Vessel Resource Manager shall participate in root cause investigations concerning project equipment failures which have resulted in downtime.

  • Prepare technical memos, bulletins and carry out management of change for any technical changes to the equipment.

  • Ensure maintaining a database of equipment manuals, maintenance records and certifications.

  • Ensure that workshop personnel raise necessary purchase requisitions for spares, consumables, and services timely for equipment maintenance as per the equipment utilization planning. Also, goods receipt (GRN) to be carried out for purchase orders received in the warehouse.

  • Manage the company internally owned survey and light-geotechnical equipment inventory, together with the hiring of any external third-party hardware systems as required.

  • Ensures timely availability, and tested, proven-workable condition of all systems for use on project operational vessels, through systematic pre-deployment calibration, testing and acceptance processes. Providing day-to-day support to Project Manager(s), offshore Technical Coordinator(s), on equipment related queries and troubleshooting. All in conjunction with respective onshore technical workshop teams.

  • Supports and guides the business on all matters relating to offshore technical equipment selection, performance, availability and costing through the project life cycle.

  • Support Commercial teams at project bidding stages, assisting project and operational teams with day-to-day operational performance and challenges, through to Lessons Learned (review and application) on project completion.

  • Assist and support Operations Manager(s) and Service Line Manager(s) in long-term resourcing strategies, and annual review / adjustment of hardware White Book Rates.

  • Manage / perform annual equipment maintenance OPEX & CAPEX budget planning and review procurement processes.

  • Monitors and analyses the operational utilisation of the company owned technical equipment inventory, and third-party hired systems, ensuring optimized usage of owned equipment, and efficient management of any hired resources, with resulting guidance towards company procurement strategies in conjunction with Business Analysts.

About you:

Equipment Resource Manager (ERM) will be a qualified and experienced Engineer with a detailed operational and maintenance knowledge of electrical, and mechanical (hydraulics) systems. It is preferred that he has a broad practical and theoretical background in geophysical survey and / or seabed light-geotechnical site investigation, and specifically the wide range of technical equipment resources used to conduct such operations.
