Job Description

To strengthen our Client Deliverables Department in Nootdorp (The Netherlands) we are looking for a new colleague to join as Marine Geophysicist.

The Client Deliverables Department is responsible for the processing, interpretation, reporting and QC of the geophysical (side scan sonar, magnetometer and sub-bottom profiler, 2D Ultra High Resolution Seismic) and bathymetrical data acquired during our offshore survey campaigns.

Such responsibilities will be performed either from the Nootdorp office (The Netherlands), onboard our vessels and/or from our ever growing Remote Data Centers. During the hiring process you will have opportunities to discuss with us your preferred career development path.

Your role

  • You ensure high quality processing and interpretation of geophysical data in accordance to Fugro best practices;

  • You write technical reports and completing set tasks reliably and co-operatively;

  • You monitor data quality during offshore acquisition, identifying risks and inform the project team accordingly;

  • You investigate and propose recommendations for improvements for data collection and data processing;

  • You engage with internal and external stakeholders regarding data processing aspects and progress of projects.

Your track record

  • You have a M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Geophysics or Geology or related subject;

  • You are familiar with company specific acquisition, processing and reporting software (e.g. SonarWiz, Oasis Montaj, IHS Kingdom) and have the ability to adapt quickly to new packages;

  • You have strong interpersonal skills, communicate effectively with the many nationalities within the team and have excellent knowledge of the English language (verbal and written);

  • You have previous knowledge on offshore surveys is preferred but not mandatory;

  • You are analytical, accurate, have a flexible attitude with the ability to maintain appropriate quality standards;

  • You have excellent language skills in English (both oral and written).
