Business Controller

Job Description

For our Innovation Department in Nootdorp, the Netherlands, we are looking for a Business Controller to join our finance team and to support our mission to be seen as true financial business partner, assisting the company to achieve its mission and goals.

As a team we provide Fugro management with timely, transparent, and meaningful management information and business insights to support fact-based decision-making. At all times we ensure integer financial results that are compliant with statutory and regulatory requirements. We continuously strive for world-class efficiency, levering one standardized IT landscape with transactional- and rule-based-accounting from Shared Service Centers.

In this varied role you work closely together with Group Control, Corporate Finance and Regional Control.

Your role

• You review projects, prepare forecast & budget in conjunction with project managers and entity director, ensure completeness of invoicing and closing of projects;

• You review and support FSSC with the month end process and Tagetik load, and prepare the month end management report;

• You control, guide and process Capex items transferred from Fugro Innovation to other Fugro entities and ensure timely and completeness of invoicing of time/hours among Fugro ICO parties;

• You support the NPV calculations and preparation of business cases prior, during and upon closing the projects;

• You assist with WBSO requests, ensure compliance with subsidy requirements and for audit are the first point of contact for subsidy related matters;

• You contribute to monthly Capex reporting (proposal, progress- and back-testing reporting).

Your track record

• You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance & Control or similar discipline, and multiple years of experience as a Business Analyst within in international environment;

• You have experience as a business line, regional and/or controller of an operating company, and a successful track record in leading (project) teams;

• You have good accounting knowledge both with IFRS and Statutory accounting and tax requirements;

• You take ownership and are a result-oriented person always looking to improve and develop yourself further;

• You hold a high level of integrity and have a strong organisational and analytical skillset;

• You are an excellent communicator, influencer, and team player with excellent English language skills (both written and oral) who feels comfortable in an international & multi-stakeholder setting.
