Position Summary
As a Geotechnical Engineering Intern, you will be part of the Fugro Team in Singapore for the Marine Geotechnical service line that provides specialised offshore geotechnical site investigations services within the APAC region with the support from other service line and support services in Singapore, as well other Fugro offices in the world. Marine geotechnical site investigation projects vary from smaller exploration or reconnaissance survey lasting few weeks to large scale field development projects lasting up to several months with client ranging from oil & gas companies, renewable energy developers and local governments.
Selected student will be given the opportunity to learn and assist the senior engineer on daily project tasks, including laboratory test assignments, evaluation of field and laboratory test data, perform geotechnical engineering analysis, and preparation of geotechnical reports. You will be also trained in standard laboratory testing and various aspects of engineering tasks to prepare yourself to be a geotechnical engineer. This role will be reporting to a Senior Engineer.
About the role
Perform technical assignments with supervision
Assist senior engineer on projects
Assign laboratory tests and monitor progress of the laboratory testing
Evaluate field and laboratory test data, prepare geotechnical logs and perform parameter selections
Prepare field, laboratory and engineering reports
Assist senior engineers in related project management tasks
Perform other engineering related operations as and when required
Requirements
Good analytical and communication skills (both written and verbal)
Responsible, hardworking and able to work and think independently
Proficient in Microsoft Office
