Software Quality Assurance Engineer - Satellite Positioning

Job Description

Fugro Norway AS - Satellite Positioning is looking for a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our dynamic team.

The ideal candidate will have a background in software development/testing and quality assurance. You will work closely with the QA lead, development teams, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure that our software products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Actively participate in improving agile processes and business systems used for software development projects.

• Define and execute tests, document and analyze results and report on test status, contributing to the overall quality assurance process.

• Contribute in all phases of the project life cycle: requirements review, test planning/execution, and reporting and assessment.

• Identify and mitigate project risks through escalation/delegation of issues to appropriate members of the project team.

• Assist project managers with project resource and roadmap planning and reporting.

Desired background and preferred skills:

• Experience with System Development Life Cycle concepts, including Agile/Scrum.

• Software testing and compliance checking experience required, preferably in safety critical domain.

• Engineering mindset with understanding of scientific/research based development.

• Strong English communication skills both oral and written.

• Experience with Jira and Global Navigation Satellite Systems is a plus.

Qualifications required:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• 2+ years of experience in software quality assurance.

• Solid understanding of software QA methodologies and tools.
