Senior Software Developer - Satellite Positioning

Job Description

Fugro Satellite Positioning is looking for an experienced C++ Software Developer to join our dynamic team of GNSS developers.

Fugro Satellite Positioning manages a global network of reference stations, monitoring signals from GNSS (GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou and Galileo) satellites and generating corrections to significantly improve the accuracy of unaugmented GNSS signals.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for coding and an interest for developing deep knowledge within the field of Global Navigation Satellite Systems.

Qualifications required:

• Technical education on M.Sc./B.Sc. level in Computer Science.

• +5 years of experience with C++, software design and development.

• +5 years of experience with system development on Linux systems.

• Familiar with advanced C++ concepts and cmake.

Desired background and preferred skills:

• System architecture design for robust, near real-time systems.

• Familiarity with network protocols like IPv4/IPv6, UDP and TCP.

• Engineering mindset with understanding of scientific/research based development.

• Project or Team management experience is an advantage.

• Experience with Jira and Global Navigation Satellite Systems is a plus.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for delivering high quality products and near real-time services.

• Participate in architecture, development and maintenance of our satellite positioning services network.

• Translate user stories into technical design, architecture and then implement them.

• Ensure engineering is carried out to company standards and actively contributes to continuous improvement of the engineering processes.

• Having an aspiration to take on or grow into a team and/or project management role is a plus.
