For our headquarters in the Netherlands, we are seeking a Business Builder to lead the scaling of our product, GroundIQ. The Director GroundIQ is responsible for building and scaling Fugro’s land ground risk management product. GroundIQ is a revolutionary, smart way to map and model what’s under the ground faster, easier, and more sustainably than ever before. It combines state-of-the-art ground imaging with targeted geotechnical observations, reducing the need for extensive exploratory site investigation programs. This enables Fugro to provide detailed ground information for any asset development or operation anywhere in the world.
GroundIQ is currently at the early MMP stage for land infrastructure clients and is offered to clients through regional business activities. Our ambition is to grow the business beyond the footprint of regional businesses, achieving over €100 million in sales with margins greater than 30%. The Director GroundIQ will be responsible for setting up and building out the GroundIQ product as a business, leveraging Fugro’s client network and regional land site characterization business while achieving growth in scalable digital services. GroundIQ is an integral part of the overall Fugro Land strategy and client solution. The Director GroundIQ will also be part of the Global Land management team and update the ELT and the Technology Committee of the Supervisory Board on progress.
As a leader in geo-risk solutions, we invite you to step into the role of building a global business based in the Netherlands. This position is tailored for those who have honed their skills in industry roles such as venture building, commercial management, engineering consultancy, and delivery management. Your responsibilities will include scheduled global travel according to client and business needs.
Key activities are:
Define business strategy, refine business model and business plan for GroundIQ;
Define value propositions that will support accelerated business build (initial focus on Land site characterisation);
Build and lead a team capable of delivering on the accelerated business build ambition Guide business development and marketing effort for GroundIQ, set pricing guidelines;
Guide Innovation team to get product delivered, supported and improved;
Work together with IT to build robust technology and data architecture;
Build partnerships and strategic client relationships that scale GroundIQ.
Organizational Context
Interacts with Land Global and Regional Business Line Director to understand client requirements and drive sales;
Works closely together with Global Innovation Director and CIO to have product developed and delivered on time. Works together with Strategic Sales and Marketing department for marketing and BD of GroundIQ.
Direct / Functional Reports
Direct: GroundIQ Product managers, commercial manager, controller (part-time), innovation manager, technical support, lead (data) architect, head of data management;
Fugro support: Innovation, IT, Marketing, HR and Procurement.
