Job Summary

Fugro is excited to offer a new opportunity for a Metocean Modeller to join our team in Singapore. We are seeking a skilled professional to enhance our metocean modelling capabilities and support our commitment to excellence in our services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in numerical modelling, with primary responsibilities including the development and management of site-specific metocean models.

About the role

• Develop, calibrate, and validate site-specific metocean numerical models.

• Analyze and interpret metocean data to support design and engineering solutions for offshore and nearshore projects.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate model outputs into broader project frameworks.

• Prepare detailed reports and presentations on model findings and recommendations.

• Stay updated with the latest advancements in metocean modelling techniques and tools.

• Prepare technical and commercial proposals, write reports, and manage projects as required.

About you

• Master’s degree in Oceanography, Meteorology, or a related discipline is essential; a PhD is preferred.

• Three to five years of experience using metocean modelling software, including SWAN, WAVEWATCHIII, Delft3D, HYCOM, or WRF.

• Knowledge of data assimilation techniques is advantageous.

• Proficiency in writing technical scripts in MATLAB and Python.

• Experience working in a Linux HPC environment.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.

• Familiarity with AWS is a plus.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
