Job Purpose:

The Purchasing Supervisor will be responsible for leading the Purchasing function in Fugro. Critical to success in this role is bringing the relevant professional, expert knowledge and experience in creating value for Fugro by assisting in the implementation of best in class Purchasing to help Fugro, control third party expenditure in order to reduce bottom line costs and improve cash flow. This role will also need a collaborative approach in bringing several Purchasing functions into one area and developing the team to work as one.

Key Responsibilities:

The Purchasing Supervisor will have the following responsibilities at Country level of Fugro:

  • The Purchasing Supervisor is responsible for all the purchasing departments activities in Fugro.

  • Actively engage with the business and develop key relationships with business stakeholders to assess actual purchasing situation and identify improvement opportunities and help to align with the Global strategy.

  • Assist in the country roadmap and develop a single Purchasing area in Fugro.

  • Processes and procedures for purchasing in the country in line with Global standardization.

  • Manage an efficient working process.

  • Manage KPIs for spend under control with a purchase order, several quotes per purchase, delivery performance and savings.

  • Support professionalism, effectiveness and efficiency by delivering bottom line cost savings.

  • Identify cost reduction opportunities, preferential pricing, payment terms, and partnerships to bring more value to the business.

  • Continuously help drive performance and business results improvements for Fugro.

  • Actively reinforce general and legal compliance and requirements regarding quality, health, safety, sustainability and environment (“QHSSE”).

  • Train the team and key-users, communicate to Fugro colleagues about the purchasing management process and any other relevant areas as required.

  • Manage, motivate and identify relevant training needs of the Purchasing team with a dynamic enthusiastic approach.

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager:

  • Help implement any Global strategy and roadmap

  • Highest performance on key purchasing indicators.

  • Assist in developing and executing on the local Purchasing area the roadmap for the transformation of the Purchasing organization in the country.

  • Ensuring delivery of value to the Fugro business, progress on the roadmap and reporting savings and value created.

  • Share, track and improve country purchase orders percentage of total invoices, spend under control, key supplier’s management, spend reporting and report on key initiatives on value created and bottom-line savings of third party spend through purchasing or what is requested from Global

  • Collaborate in the country roll out the relevant ERP and Purchasing tools and support systems.

HSE Responsibilities:

Responsible for ensuring safety of self and others at site. Prevent damage of equipment and assets Responsible for following all safety signs/procedures/ safe working practices Responsible for using appropriate PPE’s Responsible for participating in mock drills. Entitled to refuse any to undertake any activity considered unsafe. Responsible for filling up of hazard observation card, wherever hazard has been noticed at site. Responsible for safe housekeeping of his work place. To stop any operation that is deemed unsafe To be able to operate fire extinguisher in case of fire To report an incident as soon as possible to immediate supervisor and HSE manager To complete HSE trainings as instructed to do so.
