Job Description

Fugro is seeking an experienced Regional Quality Manager to develop and lead our quality assurance, compliance, and improvement efforts across the Americas. Reporting directly to the Director of Operational Excellence—Americas, this pivotal role is designed to elevate our quality management systems and ensure alignment with global standards, recognized quality standards, and international best practices.

The role is driven by execution excellence through fostering a culture of continuous improvement, enhancing service and product quality, and customer success across the Americas. It is a key leadership role, responsible for ensuring that the management systems, processes, and procedures are fit for purpose and in line with Fugro and external certification requirements while meeting or exceeding all regulatory and client requirements.

The ideal individual will possess a strong track record in developing, leading, and maintaining quality initiatives within a large, matrix organization, ideally within the engineering, maritime, or environmental sectors.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the regional quality management system (QMS) in alignment with ISO certification and continuous improvement activities.

  • Ensure the QMS is integrated seamlessly into the region's operational processes, supporting business unit leaders to meet their specific goals while maintaining global standards.

  • Ensure consistent application of quality standards across all areas within the region and service lines.

  • Collaborate on and execute a regional quality strategy that supports Fugro’s vision of operational excellence.

  • Maintain awareness of changes or advancements in quality throughout industry and certification bodies.

  • Establish and conduct a regional internal quality auditing program.

  • Oversight of country-level external certification efforts to verify adherence to applicable international standards for quality, sustainability, and test laboratories, such as ISO 9001, ISO 17025, and ISO 14001

  • Align with the supply chain to ensure a systematic approach for the evaluation and surveillance of service providers and/or suppliers.

  • Ensure that internal audit findings as well as NCRs (both from internal and external audits) are actioned in a manner that drives learning, consistency, and standardization.

  • Integrate quality management with sustainability objectives, ensuring that all quality initiatives also support Fugro’s environmental goals and reduce the company’s ecological footprint.

  • Define, manage, and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) related to quality performance, metrics, trends, and improvement initiatives to regional management.

Job Qualifications

  • Authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Quality Management, Engineering, or Business Management.

  • American Society of Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Auditor certification

  • A recognized ASQ Lead Auditing credential (i.e., ISO 9001, API Q1, Q2…etc.)

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.

  • 10 years of professional experience in a similar role, demonstrating a track record of success in Quality management.

  • Advanced SME knowledge of quality standards, such as ISO 9001 or other relevant industry-specific certifications.

  • Multilingual Capabilities: Demonstrate strong cultural competence and proficiency in Spanish and Portuguese to effectively manage diverse teams across North and Latin America, driving alignment in quality initiatives across cultural contexts.
