Job Description

Seismic Data Processing Project Manager

The Project Manager will independently process different types of offshore seismic data. In addition, the Project Manager should have experience in new processing techniques, be capable of specifying fit for purpose offshore and onshore processing sequences, write processing reports and deliver results presentations to clients. A high degree of initiative and attention to detail are essential, along with strong communication skills.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work independently to evaluate and develop processing sequences and undertake processing of different types of seismic data, in particular multichannel 2D/3D HR and UHR seismic data.

  • Write and prepare all aspects of seismic data processing reports; deliver results presentations and frequently interact with clients, contractors and in house departments on technical issues.

  • Collaborate closely with geologists and contribute to the preparation of survey reports as required.

  • Actively contribute to the development and maintenance of geophysical expertise and contribute to knowledge transfer to other staff members.

  • Complies with QMS and HSE requirements.

Qualifications:

  • MSc in geophysics with focus on marine geophysics and/or exploration geophysics, or similar education.

  • The preferred candidate should ideally have a regional network both with processing companies and operators.

  • Field experience with seismic acquisition and survey design.

  • Profound experience with broadband processing

  • Profound experience with Linux operating systems

  • Ability to script in shell, and program in Python and C++

  • Proficient user of the Uniseis software package for seismic processing.

  • Profound experience with processing of different types of marine-acquired multichannel seismic data, including 3D, 2D HR and UHR seismic data.

  • Experience with geological interpretation of seismic data is an advantage.

  • Excellent English writing and oral communication skills.

  • At least 7 years' relevant work experience.
