The role
The way we generate energy is changing. The deployment of renewable energy technology is powering the transition towards a net-zero future. At Fugro, the world’s leading Geo-data company, we are supporting the development of renewable energy projects, particularly in offshore wind, as part of our vision and ambition to create a safe and liveable world. We are looking for a Business Development Manager who shares our vision to support our Metocean team in growing our business to assist the energy transition.
We are seeking a talented team member to proactively consult with our clients to understand their challenges and needs, build knowledge and trust, and develop opportunities. You will also be responsible for maintaining the sales pipeline, utilising business intelligence to keep up to date on market developments, representing the company at industry events and working with renewables trade bodies. The role will require close liaison with commercial colleagues and discipline experts within the Metocean Science Service Line, and with colleagues in other service lines and from the regional Strategic Sales and Marketing team.
The location for this role is flexible.
Who we’re looking for:
Experience or good understanding of marine operations and/or engineering with a related degree and/or experience in a scientific, renewables, or technical discipline.
Demonstrable experience of developing client relationships and growing accounts
Experience or good understanding of the offshore energy industry.
Demonstrable experience of developing client relationships and growing accounts.
Willingness and availability to travel to client meetings and industry events.
Excellent communicator and listener
Commercial/proposal writing experience would be beneficial but is not considered essential.
Excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written
Additional language skills would be looked on favourably
Most importantly, the energy and enthusiasm to work collaboratively with clients and team members to develop renewable energy project opportunities.
