Job Description

The ROC Surveyor is responsible for performing marine survey activities from the Remote Operations Center (ROC) .The ROC Surveyor will collaborate with the Project Manager, Offshore Staff (Vessel Crew and Offshore Surveyors [Hybrid Solution]), Data Services, and any other Support Staff e.g., Innovation as required to effectively and efficiently complete project scope of work. As required, the ROC Surveyor will actively support the continuous improvement cycle of remote operations consisting of identifying opportunities, developing business justifications, testing, and creating documentation to be incorporated into the body of knowledge.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.

  • Supports the setup, interfacing, testing, calibration, and operation of the full suite of survey sensors.

  • Ensures operations are conducted in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with project terms and conditions.

  • Remotely operates online survey software and monitors the data quality to ensure required specification is achieved and taking immediate corrective action when required.

  • Receives calls and makes outbound calls to remote project locations and provides confident, clear, and concise information.

  • Maintains effective and appropriate communication with client representatives, Project Manager, and other onshore and offshore departments e.g., Data Services, Subject Matter Experts, Innovation, Staff Development Coordinators, Human Resources, IT, and QHSSE.

  • Collects collates and presents results from various survey sensors.

  • Develops and maintains clear and concise documentation for all survey-related activities.

  • Prepares and ensures quality control of survey logs.

  • Maintains current and accurate vessel information and comprehensive handover notes.

  • Conducts reporting and processing as required.

  • Actively participates in project briefings, daily meetings, and safety meetings as appropriate.

Job Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.

  • Possess the ability to obtain a valid passport for international travel.

  • Possess a High School diploma, or Associate degree from a two-year technical school or college in surveying, GIS or related.

  • Have 1 year or more year experience in Marine Operations, Marine Construction, Marine Geophysical or other Marine survey related field.

  • Experience with Fugro Starfix® Suite required.
