Do you want to join our Geo-data revolution? Fugro’s global reach and unique know-how will put the world at your fingertips. Our love of exploration and
technical expertise help us to provide our clients with invaluable insights. We source and make sense of the most relevant Geo-data for their needs, so they can design, build and operate their assets more safely, sustainably and
efficiently. But we’re always looking for new talent to take the next step with us. For bright minds who enjoy meaningful work and want to push our pioneering spirit further. For individuals who can take the initiative but work well within a team.
The role
Fugro’s Marine Site Characterisation, Geophysical Service Line has an opportunity for a Project Manager to join our team in Aberdeen. In this role, you will be responsible for the planning, execution, and coordination of offshore site
surveys and investigations (geophysical, environmental and geotechnical) utilising a variety of Fugro assets, including our fleet of purpose-built survey vessels as well as innovative remote and uncrewed solutions.
With assistance from operations and technical support departments, as well as other service lines, you will be expected to continually improve project
performance. Your capabilities and experience will assist in maintaining a competitive edge for further development, which can include the identification of new
methods and technologies to enable cost reductions and efficiency improvements.
There will be opportunities to be involved in the mentoring and management of offshore teams within the projects you work on.
This job is for you if:
You are results-orientated, well-organised and enjoy working in a high-pressure environment.
You are commercially astute and able to maximise project revenues while delivering on our contractual commitments.
You have excellent verbal and written communication skills and are adept at fostering strong relationships with clients and colleagues, with a desire to lead from the front.
Who you’ll be working with:
Reporting to the Project Delivery Manager, you will be working with the Service Line team in Aberdeen and will also liaise with our project, operations and commercial teams locally and globally.
Here’s what a typical day would be like:
Management of all commercial, operational and technical matters relating to the content of the project or contract.
Provide budgetary control on all project costs; prepare, review and approve purchase orders, prepare invoices for prompt submission and deal effectively with any client invoicing disputes.
Ensure fieldwork is efficiently planned and scheduled; liaise with clients to ensure all parties are fully informed of mobilisation and planning arrangements.
Ensure selected equipment is suitable for the work. Manage any modifications or changes that may be necessary together with other departments.
Prepare project documentation and ensure project reporting is properly managed, and delivered, in accordance with the client specification and document control standards. Document variations and recover costs as necessary.
Attend vessel mobilisations and kick-off meetings (occasional travel within the UK and Europe).
Who we are looking for:
Essential
Ability to communicate with clients at all levels, verbally and in written format.
Ability to manage own workload and meet deadlines. When required, ability to triage priorities to ensure deadlines are met.
Ability to work effectively as an individual and as part of a team, proactively, with a desire to succeed and win business.
Problem solver, with excellent numeracy and attention to detail.
Awareness of the offshore energy sector (e.g. renewables, oil & gas).
Desirable
Experience in project management (or a similar role)
Project management qualifications (APM PMQ, PMI PMP, or similar)
