Job Description
For our Marine operations in the Africa/Europe region we are looking for an enthusiastic Geodesist/Support Surveyor who provides survey support during the preparation and execution of our projects and assists in the introduction of new survey solutions. The position will be based in Nootdorp, the Netherlands.
Fugro Netherlands Marine forms part of Fugro’s Marine Division and is a market-leading offshore survey company, providing a full range of high-resolution geophysical survey, positioning & construction support and IRM services in Europe and Africa. Among other projects we are currently involved with the development, installation and inspection of wind farms in the North Sea and other parts of the world, and Oil & Gas related subsea structure installation and inspection in ultra-deep (1950m) waters offshore West Africa.

Your role:
Assist with establishing best practices/work instructions incorporating lessons learned for the control of survey solutions supplied to projects;
Assist with the testing, validation and implementation of new solutions;
Provide specific survey support onsite or offshore during start-up and execution of projects;
Liaise with suppliers of survey solutions to ensure timely follow up of support requests;
Assist with the development of training course material and give specific training;
Advise on survey related matters, for example GNSS, INS and underwater acoustics.
Your trackrecord;
This is a challenging position and will require a diverse set of skills:
MSc or BSc level degree in surveying (e.g. Geomatics, Hydrography or Geodesy) or a related field;
1-2 years’ experience in a comparable role is an advantage;
Willingness to travel offshore;
Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
Excellent knowledge of English language (verbal and written);
Service oriented and problem solving mind set;
IT / ICT conversant;
Proactive attitude and the capacity to work independently.
