Job Description

To maximize the potential of our technology portfolio, we now need a visionary Commercial Manager to break into new markets and scale SEAWATCH® product sales using innovative business models and techniques.

Dynamic, entrepreneurial, and with a knack for 'getting deals over the line', you'll be taking the helm, driving first sales, securing market entry, and laying the groundwork for the rapid scale-up of our exciting SEAWATCH® venture. Your strategic insights and ability to identify new growth opportunities, will shape our future market approach, influence key business decisions and help fuel further investment.

Expect to dedicate at least 12 months per SEAWATCH® venture, and to be laser-focused on converting first deals and preparing the ground for long-term success. You will be collaborating closely with a diverse team of venture builders from consulting, product, marketing, and technology backgrounds, and using the customer feedback you gain to help them refine, evolve and accelerate the product roadmap.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.

  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for new products from scratch, focusing initially on Fugro's SEAWATCH Buoys. A wide range of Marine Applications are in scope including Desalination plants, Ports & Harbors, Shipping, Offshore Energy, Aquaculture, Underwater Cables, Tsunamis early warnings, and Marine Protection

  • Lead the commercial scale-up of new digital products, ensuring successful market entry and growth in multiple markets across the globe.

  • Shape commercial outreach to generate new leads.

  • Identify and pursue new market opportunities, both within existing and new target sectors

  • Drive initial sales efforts and secure first customers for new products.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.

  • Use data insights to refine product offerings and market strategies.

  • Develop pricing models and commercial propositions that resonate with target markets.

  • Lead and manage commercial projects from concept to execution.

  • Be an inspiration to others, setting new standards with your commercial acumen and deal-making prowess, that others will measure themselves against

Job Requirements

  • Possess the ability to obtain a valid passport for international travel.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geosciences, or Business is preferred.

  • Have 5 or more years of experience as a commercial manager.

  • Has a good knowledge and understanding of the basics of multibeam, sidescan sonar, lidar, bathymetry, nautical charting, and geospatial activities

  • Established history of successful sales and business development, specifically in a new venture environment highly preferred.

  • Strong communication and client relation skills

  • Occasional travel is required.

  • Proficiency in the use of office administration and Database software.
