Job Description
We are looking for a highly organized and experienced Design Engineer to join our eROV (Electric Remotely Operated Vehicle) team. Our innovative eROV’s are widely celebrated within the maritime industry. Our products are used for subsea inspections, seafloor mapping and environmental monitoring. Using our eROV’s reduces operational costs, human risks, and CO2 emissions.
As eROV Design Engineer, you provide technical expertise and support to the team during the design phase. At the same time, your role is crucial to assist in continual improvement of commercialised products. The Design Engineer also has the joint responsibility for the creation of the design and is responsible to ensure that all the engineering documentation has been written, reviewed, and approved in accordance with departmental and company procedures. You will also support the design and integration of bespoke tooling solutions on our eROV platforms.
The primary impact of this role is working within our small and dedicated design team focusing on innovative and robust solutions to delivery against the eROV roadmap and user cases.
Your role
You review and create calculations files to prove design parameter have been met;
Create and review of 2D & 3D design files that meets pre-defined Functional Design Specifications;
Review and create procedures and manuals for operation and maintenance of equipment;
Identify opportunities for design improvements and implementing solutions to enhance ROV performance and a keen eye on reliability and robustness;
Prepare detailed design documentation, including specifications, schematics, and user manuals.
Your track record
Proven experience either with design of ROV’s or similar robotic products;
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail;
Skilled knowledge and significant experience of 2D and 3D CAD programs, (preferably AutoCAD & SolidWorks.);
Skilled knowledge of Finite Element Analysis, (FEA) is desired;
You have a methodical approach to the presentation of engineering documents using company templates;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
