Job Description
For the Fugro Germany Marine office in Bremen, Germany we are looking with immediate effect for a highly motivated individual with hands-on attitude to fill the role of Commercial Manager who is responsible for managing a team of highly skilled Proposal Management Professionals to deliver high quality proposals with a well-balanced risk/profit profile to meet sustainable business growth as well as profitability goals for the Marine Cable Route Survey and Geophysical Service Line, ran out of the Bremen office.
In this role you report to the local Service Line Director and report functionally to the MSC Commercial Director EUAF as part of the Fugro senior management team. In this managing role you will be responsible for continuing the success of Fugro Germany Marine on its path to sustainable, profitable growth. You will have active participation in the country organization to improve quality and workflows in- and outside the country organization, working closely with the Commercial Managers in the region related to the Marine Site Characterization business to ensure a unified high-quality approach to our commercial discipline.
Your role
You are supervising and driving winning pricing strategies for strategically important projects.
Participate in the proposal approval process and act as an escalation point for your team on terms & conditions and contractual reviews.
Manage the incoming workloads, resource requirements and are actively involved in proposal prioritization and bid/no bid decisions.
Responsible in the country organization to provide information on revenue forecasts and backlog.
Contribute to an understanding of the competitive landscape that we operate in.
Drive innovation within the commercial and proposal development discipline.
Working in close collaboration with Operations, Project Management and Business Development while simultaneously developing and maintaining strategic relationships with one or more local or regional key accounts.
Training and coaching commercial team staff and help manage their professional development.
Your qualifications
You have at least a BSc degree in a scientific or business discipline (preferred: survey or related disciplines like geophysics or geoscience).
A minimum of 8 years working experience across multiple Fugro Service Lines and/or disciplines (e.g. Proposal, Commercial or Project Management).
You have a proven experience in increasing performance in teams and building up and motivating teams. Management experience typically: 3–8 years.
You have excellent language skills in English (both verbal and written).
Proficiency in German language will be expected. For non-German speaking applicants, respective training will be supported as required.
