Job Description

The ROV Senior Pilot Technician will assist the ROV Superintendent / Supervisor ensuring smooth Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and precision. With expertise in ROV systems they will oversee technical execution, troubleshooting, and maintenance. By maintaining operational excellence and adhering to rigorous safety standards, and contribute directly to minimizing downtime, enhancing project outcomes, and reinforcing the organization's reputation for reliability and excellence in underwater operations.

Responsibilities:

- Take charge of the deployment and retrieval of ROV systems, ensuring adherence to operational procedures and safety protocols.

- Conduct thorough inspections and pre-mission tests on ROV equipment to verify functionality and readiness for underwater operations.

- Operate ROVs to perform intricate underwater tasks, such as inspections, surveys, and manipulations, with precision and efficiency.

- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of ROV systems and associated equipment to maintain operational reliability.

- Provide guidance and training to junior technicians and ROV operators to foster skill development and ensure adherence to operational standards.

- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to plan
and execute ROV operations effectively, meeting project objectives and timelines.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field;
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on ROVs, USVs, or marine robotics.
- Proven track record of leadership and team management, with experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Strong technical proficiency in mechanical design, control systems, sensor integration, and underwater vehicle dynamics.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations governing underwater robotics (e.g., API, ISO, ABS).
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical challenges.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
