Job Description

With a new Procurement & Supply Chain (P&SC) organization in place, Fugro is on an exciting journey to accelerate growth and value creation. The Sourcing Specialist function has a key role to play in this context by delivering the most competitive supplier cost base by helping to build a strong Procurement & Supply Chain in North America.  The Sourcing Specialist will be part of the Source to Contract (S2C) team and will oversee the purchases and supply base of a part of the business.

The Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for engaging with key stakeholders in the business and drive cost down with engagement with the supply base and sourcing activities. The role is not just limited to Fugro Houston office but all Fugro Entities in North America and may involve some global activities. Critical to success of this role is bringing a professional look and creating value for Fugro by implementing best in class in Sourcing and Contract activities to help Fugro reduce bottom line costs, improve cash flow and top line profit, and streamline the supply base.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.

  • Responsible for driving costs down in select categories, while ensuring quality and on time delivery.

  • Analyze financial data on company expenditures, report on spend categories for improvements, and identify categories for better cost control and supplier management.

  • Manage certain categories third party strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and contract management

  • Actively engage and develop key relationships with business stakeholders and strategic supply partners to assess supply chain category spend, risk reductions, future strategies, and identify potential cost reduction and valuable opportunities for Fugro.

  • Own supplier end-to-end procurement and supply chain cost reductions (TCO)

  • Work with the global and other country supply chain teams on best practices, implementing policies and category knowledge share.

  • Establish on a regular basis the value created with the supply chain team and business stakeholders. Track, optimize, communicate and share value created by P&SC.

  • Knowledge of supplier pricing negotiations, and agreement negotiations.

  • Communicate clearly in the business the sourcing strategy.

  • Ensure S2C policies and processes are communicated to business and supply base and followed.

  • Be a strategic partner to the business and one face to the supplier.

  • Own category supplier management and pre-qualifications.

  • Lead tender packages, or request for proposals.

  • Supplier visits as needed which may include auditing a third party.

  • Provide all Globally driven Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and savings by communicated timelines.

  • Work with and take direction from the Global Category Manager in developing a sourcing strategy for North America.

  • Motivated by managing change and able to get things done in a dynamic and continuously changing environment.

Job Requirements

  • Authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.

  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in any the following Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Engineering, Business Administration or Management, Economics, Law or similar required.

  • Have five years or more of Strategic Sourcing & Contract Management and/or Procurement management experience.

  • Ideally have relevant or working towards a professional qualification (e.g. MCIPS, NEVI)  preferred.

  • Successful proven experience in setting up, developing, managing and innovating a supply chain or procurement function in an international environment.
