Job Description
Do you want to join our Geo-data revolution? Fugro’s global reach and unique know-how will put the world at your fingertips. Our love of exploration and technical expertise help us to provide our clients with invaluable insights. We source and make sense of the most relevant Geo-data for their needs, so they can design, build and operate their assets more safely, sustainably and efficiently. But we’re always looking for new talent to take the next step with us. For bright minds who enjoy meaningful work and want to push our pioneering spirit further. For individuals who can take the initiative but work well within a team.
The role:
As a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer, your role will be both dynamic and rewarding. You will conduct site investigations, collecting and analysing soil and rock samples to determine their suitability for construction projects both on land and subsea. You will also work in the office, where you will use advanced software to design foundations and other geotechnical solutions.
You will have the opportunity to collaborate across the business whilst being a key member of the team in making our projects happen. You will work closely with and learn from our experienced engineers, project managers, and clients, contributing to the successful delivery of geotechnical projects.
Our Graduate Programme:
This one-year programme is designed to provide you with hands-on experience and professional development, setting the foundation for a successful career in geotechnical engineering. This will allow you to work with and learn from our industry experts whilst you develop into an experienced geotechnical engineer.
Throughout the programme, you will rotate between our land and marine services, gaining invaluable experience in both environments. This rotation ensures that you develop a well-rounded understanding of geotechnical engineering, from onshore site investigations to offshore geotechnical surveys. You will be involved in meaningful projects that contribute to the success of our clients and the advancement of our industry, whilst developing in a supportive and safe culture.
In addition to the technical experience, you will participate in our U.Gro programme, which focuses on your professional development. This supportive initiative is tailored to help you grow both personally and professionally, providing you with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in your career. You will be embedded into Fugro at a sensible pace, allowing you to acclimate to our company culture while making significant contributions to our projects.
Upon successful completion of the graduate programme, you will have the opportunity to apply for a role outside the programme within Fugro. We are committed to nurturing talent and providing a clear pathway for career progression within our organisation.
Who we’re looking for:
You will have a degree in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, environmental engineering, geology, or a related field. You should possess a keen interest in both land and marine geotechnical services and be excited about the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in diverse environments. You should have a genuine curiosity about the natural world and a desire to solve complex geotechnical engineering challenges.
What we offer:
Fugro provides a positive work environment as well as projects that will satisfy the most curious minds. We also offer great opportunities to stretch and develop yourself. By giving you the freedom to grow faster, we think you’ll be able to do what you do best, better. Which should help us to find fresh ways to get to know the earth better. We encourage you to be yourself at Fugro. So bring your energy and enthusiasm, your keen eye and can-do attitude. But bring your questions and opinions too. Because to be the world’s leading Geo-data specialist, we need the strength in depth that comes from a diverse, driven team.
Extensive career & training opportunities both nationally and internationally.
Competitive salary accompanied by an attractive package including contributory pension scheme
Flexible working hours and the potential to work 2 days a week from home in accordance with your manager and corporate policies.
Option to lease an electric car.
