Job Description

As Regional Director Operational Excellence (OE) you support the Regional Director Europe Africa (EUAF) , the largest region within Fugro, to deliver strategy and tactics to ensure we deliver Operational Excellence and Project Management.  You ensure that the EUAF strategy and tactics for Operational Excellence and Project Management aligns with the company’s broader strategic priorities, such as growth, transformation, expansion and building recurring revenues.

Your role

  • As a member of the of the global Operational Excellence team, you support the creation and maintenance of a centre of excellence, bodies of knowledge, global OKR’s and ensure alignment when creating the OE/PM OKR’s for the EUAF region and EUAF Business Lines - ensuring competitive advantage, client intimacy whilst fostering sustainable profitable growth.

  • You develop and implement regional strategies and tactics for Operational Excellence, ensuring a learning organisation, focused on continuous improvement and delivering to the highest levels of business performance through effective use of standardisation and a focus on minimising waste.

  • You actively create, coordinate and control governance, assurance, standards and sharing of best practice across the Project Lifecycle, maximising value for all Fugro Projects. You create a regional professional community and best practice, working together with the business to ensure that developments and innovations aligns with the needs of the business and by extension the customers.

  • As member of the EUAF leadership team you deliver the complex task of supporting the roll out of global strategy, towards full potential, overseeing and ensuring the successful completion of agreed regional special projects, providing strategic planning, supporting execution and effective leadership to achieve project goals and objectives. Also working closely, managing the complex relationships, with leadership from other functions and country organisations (HR, Finance, HSSE, etc.) to ensure the operational excellence and project management strategies are integrated with overall business strategy.

  • You develop and implement the regional Quality Management Strategy (in full alignment with the global Quality strategy) and act as the regional quality champion, ensuring that quality principles are embedded in all aspects of the business.Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and other relevant industry standards.   Overseeing the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of quality systems across the EUAF region.  Conduct regular audits, gap analyses, and compliance reviews to assess quality effectiveness.  Through the Regional Quality Manager drive standardisation and best practices across different business, functional and country organisations.

What you bring along

  • You have a bachelor degree in a relevant field and you bring experience in working in a project environment, construction, mechanical, electrical or inspection.

  • You are experienced in working on complex projects in a marine or land environment in the energy, infrastructure or water markets.

  • You are fluent in English.

  • You have a sound knowledge of contract management principles and standard forms of contract and you have experience in negotiating, managing contracts (vendor and direct to client).

  • You are experienced in change management and have knowledge of change tools.
