From student to scientist
I have always been interested in Geology. Early during my studies, I took a physical geology class and I just got fascinated with how the rock cycle worked and how the earth operates.
I was very curious, and I wanted to be hands on. So, I reached out to a professor to learn how to process seismic data because I wanted to be knowledgeable in it. I learned about new equipment, new software, I took courses, and I just developed these skills and once I started working offshore, I was able finally to put things together.
The role of a geoscientist
As a geoscientist, my role is to oversee the project data that is acquired and ensure it meets specifications. When we go on site, we handle the deployment of all the gear in the water, we acquire the data and then we send it for processing. After that, it comes back to the department where I work and we review it to make sure it meets the required specifications.

Future-driven company
It feels good to be part of Fugro. There is very good communication. There are very strong values and there is also a lot of innovation. Especially with the equipment we use and the integration of automation. I see it as very future-driven, and I'm excited to be part of that. I've worked on various projects and I have been on assignment with other companies, but Fugro definitely stands out as the leader in innovation.
