Fugro ROAMES® delivers digital twin of New Zealand power grid network

Fugro's utilisation of airborne lidar surveys to gather precise Geo-data for Counties Energy's electricity distribution network is a significant step towards enhancing operational efficiency and reliability. By creating a digital twin through the Fugro ROAMES® platform, Counties Energy gains a comprehensive model of their network, allowing for the identification of defects, vegetation encroachments, and regulatory non-compliances.

The digital twin not only provides a holistic view of the distribution network but also minimises the necessity for on-site inspections, thereby reducing operational costs and enhancing safety by potentially decreasing field personnel exposure to hazardous conditions.
