Job Description
Do you want to join our Geo-data revolution? Fugro’s global reach and unique know-how will put the world at your fingertips. Our love of exploration and technical expertise help us to provide our clients with invaluable insights. We source and make sense of the most relevant Geo-data for their needs, so they can design, build and operate their assets more safely, sustainably and efficiently. But we’re always looking for new talent to take the next step with us. For bright minds who enjoy meaningful work and want to push our pioneering spirit further. For individuals who can take the initiative but work well within a team.
The role
As an Apprentice Project Manager you will assist in management of commercial, operational and technical matters relating to marine surveys supporting renewables and oil & gas developments in the UK and Europe & Africa region.
You will play a crucial role in supporting the planning and execution of various projects within our organisation. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the development and maintenance of project plans, ensuring that timelines are met, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
In this dynamic role, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in project management by actively participating in the coordination of project activities. You will work closely with senior project managers to learn the ins and outs of project management methodologies and best practices. This includes contributing to the identification and mitigation of potential risks and issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.
Additionally, as part of your apprenticeship, you will engage in effective communication with team members, stakeholders, and clients to provide updates on project progress. You will also be involved in documenting project requirements, specifications, and other relevant information to ensure clarity and alignment among team members.
The Apprentice Project Manager position offers a unique learning experience, allowing you to build a foundation in project management while working on real-world projects. Through mentorship and hands-on involvement, you will develop valuable skills that will set you on the path to a successful career in project management.
During the apprenticeship, you will be working towards achieving an Honours Degree in Business Management through Robert Gordon University starting in September 2024.
Who we’re looking for:
We are looking for someone who is curious, ready to learn about projects, and possess problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate is proactive, takes initiative, and has a genuine interest in contributing to project success. Strong documentation skills, a commitment to continuous learning, and openness to mentorship are key attributes you are seeking in an Apprentice Project Manager.
You will be good at communicating both verbally and will have a genuine passion for working as part of a team to achieve goals.
The entry requirements for this apprenticeship are BBBC at higher level, or the equivalent in college qualifications such as HNC/HND.
What we offer:
Fugro provides a positive work environment as well as projects that will satisfy the most curious minds. We also offer great opportunities to stretch and develop yourself. By giving you the freedom to grow faster, we think you’ll be able to do what you do best, better. Which should help us to find fresh ways to get to know the earth better. We encourage you to be yourself at Fugro. So bring your energy and enthusiasm, your keen eye and can-do attitude. But bring your questions and opinions too. Because to be the world’s leading Geo-data specialist, we need the strength in depth that comes from a diverse, driven team.
Extensive career & training opportunities both nationally and internationally.
Competitive salary accompanied by an attractive package including contributory pension scheme
Flexible working hours and the potential to work 2 days a week from home in accordance with your manager and corporate policies. (amend as required)
Option to lease an electric car.
