Project Manager Satellite Positioning

Job Description

For our GNSS innovation team, we are looking for an experienced Project Manager. At Fugro, we readily tap into the potential of our global network of reference stations, monitoring satellite signals and correcting their accuracy. Why? So, we can provide our clients with precise, reliable, and real-time insights about the project site. Everything clients need to support precise positioning and safe navigation.

As our project manager, you manage existing and new projects within the Satellite Positioning innovation portfolio. You help the team of innovation engineers to set their milestones and realize their goals efficiently and effectively. You work closely with product managers to ensure that we work requirement driven. Knowledge of our satellite positioning services will help you. However, if you do not possess that knowledge, the team is ready to tell you all about it.

You are our ideal candidate if you are an excellent communicator with a positive mindset, combined with software product management capabilities.

Your role

• You define work packages, milestones, and user stories (with technical specifications) based on user requirements in collaboration with Product Managers;

• You have general ownership of the project’s technical progress within the Fugro innovation project management framework, including risk, budget, scope, and stakeholder management;

• You maintain a prioritized product backlog;

• You oversee the processes of identification, documentation, and tracking of software defects and issues;

• You refine and oversee the implementation of these together with the development teams in an Agile framework;

• You report on progress and timely delivery of project milestones;

• You are responsible for the coordination of the full project scope between different stakeholders, including multiple remote development teams.

Your track record

• You have a master's or bachelor's degree in technical sciences;

• You have at least 5 years of experience in project/product management, experience in software product management is a strong plus;

• You showcase excellent communication skills in English on a technical and non-technical level and you have ability to collaborate across functions and organizational levels (business management, project management, stakeholders);

• You have the ability to understand software systems and the technology behind them;

• Experience in working with remote teams is a plus;

• Working with Atlassian Jira is a plus;

• Knowledge of Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) is a plus.
