Job Description

For the Marine Site Characterisation (MSC) business we are looking for a Team Lead Seismic Inversion & Joint Industry Projects (JIP) who is responsible for leading and accelerating Fugro’s application of seismic inversion to define geotechnical properties through EBIT generating funded projects with an aspect of Research & Development (R&D) and Joint Industry Projects (JIP). It includes contributing to the delivery of existing projects and winning of additional projects.

You help coordinating the ongoing integrated studies and proposals, and capture and disseminate learnings to ensure valued application to end clients. In addition, you have the opportunity to initiate and manage JIPs on the application of seismic inversion, providing another source of revenue and engaging others that can help Fugro’s development of the tools retaining a market leadership role.

The role brings the credibility of a skilled practitioner and the capability to present to, and challenge, technical peers in developer or competitor organisations.

Your role

  • You work with technical experts on challenges across Geotech and Geophysics consultancy and in the seismic processing teams to develop Fugro’s capabilities;

  • You integrate numerous ongoing projects with complementary workflow development, organise and join additional JIPs related to seismic inversion to secure additional external funding;

  • You develop an internal network to disseminate the technical advancements made and work with internal experts and marketing to develop articles and trainings for Business Development teams to ensure Fugro a secure place in the evolving market;

  • You advise on client market trends & insights, and provide quarterly updates on competitor movements to support key proposals, business cases and strategy development in seismic inversion;

  • You translate client needs into pricing strategies for seismic inversion, reframe client benefits into value drivers and communicate guidelines for implementation by commercial teams;

  • You support Solution Directors, Product Owners and Innovation Business Partners to properly design and position complementary priority solutions (e.g. advanced acoustic downhole logging tools) according to client value propositions, competitor insights and market research.

Your track record

  • You have a master’s degree in Geophysics and preferably you are a member of SUT/EAGE/AAPG;

  • You have a minimum of 8 years working experience in quantitative interpretation and seismic processing;

  • You have extensive experience in leading and motivating teams, and you can drive organisational and cultural change to facilitate technical development;

  • You are a strong relationship builder both internal and external, you have the ability to persuade and negotiate, you identify business opportunities and demonstrate strong financial awareness;

  • You take ownership and initiative, act with confidence and you are able to make prompt and clear decisions, which may involve though choices and risks;

  • You are a strong communicator with excellent English language skills (written and spoken).
