Job Description

Join Our Geo-Data Revolution!

At Fugro, our global reach and unique expertise put the world at your fingertips. Our passion for exploration and technical know-how help us provide clients with invaluable insights. We source and interpret the most relevant Geo-data, enabling safer, more sustainable, and efficient design, construction, and operation of their assets. We're always looking for new talent to join us on this journey. If you have a bright mind, enjoy meaningful work, and want to push our pioneering spirit further, we want you. We value individuals who can take the initiative and thrive in a team environment.

The Role

This newly created position involves performing quality assurance and quality control approvals for laboratory test results, including effective stress tests performed to BS1377, ISO17892, and ASTM standards, as well as novel in-house advanced test methods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and review geotechnical classification tests, including plasticity index, particle size distribution analysis, and particle density.

  • Review and interpret total stress tests, including phi angle and cohesion from direct shearbox and residual shear strength from Bromhead Ringshear.

  • Review and interpret parameters from one-dimensional oedometers to obtain relevant consolidation parameters such as mv, cv, k, primary and secondary compression, and pre-consolidation pressure.

  • Review effective stress tests performed on clay and sand obtained from offshore to determine undrained shear strength.

  • Analyze dynamic cyclic triaxial test results using state-of-the-art testing equipment and advise on cyclic ratios according to tau average (tav) or tau cyclic (tcy) failure conditions.

  • Interpret signal peaks from vertically polarized sine wave (svh) bender element signal data to analyze shear modulus for soil stiffness.

  • Review small strain measurements obtained from local LVDT transducers and resonant column related to soil stiffness.

Who We're Looking For:

We seek individuals experienced in processing data by collating, processing, and presenting data on and/or leading projects of medium to high complexity. You will be responsible for processing relevant data, compiling and presenting data deliverables, ensuring quality control of data and deliverables, and managing and producing data deliverables. You will also maintain and perform standard peer review procedures on all deliveries before they are sent to the client, if applicable.

What We Offer:

Fugro provides a positive work environment and projects that will satisfy the most curious minds. We offer great opportunities to stretch and develop yourself. By giving you the freedom to grow faster, we believe you’ll be able to do what you do best, better. This should help us find fresh ways to understand the earth better. We encourage you to be yourself at Fugro. Bring your energy, enthusiasm, keen eye, and can-do attitude. Bring your questions and opinions too. To be the world’s leading Geo-data specialist, we need the strength in depth that comes from a diverse, driven team.

  • Extensive career and training opportunities both nationally and internationally.

  • Competitive salary accompanied by an attractive package, including a contributory pension scheme.

  • Option to lease an electric car.

  • Additional local benefits.

Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

At Fugro, our people are our superpower. Their variety of viewpoints, experiences, knowledge, and talents give us collective strength. We welcome distinctive beliefs and diverse backgrounds, but we do not tolerate discrimination, harassment, inappropriate behavior, or unfair treatment. Everyone is well-supported and treated fairly. Everyone is valued and has their voice heard. We believe that getting this right brings a sense of belonging, safety, and acceptance, making us feel more connected to Fugro’s purpose: ‘together we create a safe and liveable world’ – and to each other.
