Job Description
The etworking Supervisor is responsible for one or more IT processes by managing complex tickets, coordinating planning and tasks, communicating to business community when a larger group has been affected and, training junior staff. Leads IT support teams and/or junior IT professionals.
Job Responsibilities
Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.
Manage and supervise direct reporting personnel to provide 24 hour per day NCC manning and support. Arranging or providing training where required.
Provide Technical support for the Fugro Data Network within the Fugro Satellite Positioning area of operations to minimize service issues and maximize positioning performance.
As required perform Network Controller duties & Tasks.
Implementation (including travel) and upgrade of software and hardware related to the Fugro Data Network operation.
Test and configure equipment for integration in the FDN and for test and development purposes.
Provide customers prompt and professional service.
Proactively look for means of improvement in performance and operating procedures.
Adhere to company BMS (Business Management System)
Ability to use logical thought processes to determine the correct action to take to minimize broadcast service and reference station downtime.
Ability to communicate effectively with remote personnel performing FDN maintenance.
Ability to prioritize and follow tasks through to completion.
Provide accurate service documentation and reports as required.
Job Requirements
Legally authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.
Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.
Possess the ability to obtain a valid passport for international travel.
Possess a two-year technical degree in IT.
Have 5 years or more of networking experience.
Have 3 years or more experience as a supervisor.
Have 3 years of experience in IT infrastructure management.
Basic understanding of Differential GNSS principles or GPS.
Good understanding of Data Networking operations.
The ability to coach and manage direct reporting personnel.
Strong computer literacy and competence in the use of common office software packages plus Windows and Red Hat operating systems.
