Job Description
For our Nootdorp office we are looking for a Geodetic Engine Expert to join an amazing team who develops and enhances the Geodetic Engine used by land and marine applications in Fugro.
Various business lines in Fugro collect large volumes of data. This data needs to be combined, refined and properly converted to a defined coordinate reference system. The Geodetic Engine follows the industry standards and it is used globally within Fugro. It is available as a C# library, Cloud service and end-user application.
Geodetic expertise is the key requirement to this role. With other geodesists and software engineers from the Netherlands and other regions you deliver Geodetic Engine software components and applications needed for offshore and onshore operations performed all around the world.

We use planes, trains, cars, boats, submarines, and robots to map and model the environment and its infrastructure so that structures can be reliably built, run and maintained. Your role
You contribute to all development phases of the product, from design and implementation to maintenance and support of the software, geodetic algorithms in particular;
You attend the daily stand up meetings and attend retrospectives and sprint planning meetings;
You participate in code reviews;
You keep up to date with fundamental geodesy and geomatics.
You proactively share your knowledge and expertise within the company.
You provide field and innovation support as required and you strive for continuous improvements.
Your track record
You have a Bachelor or Master degree in (Technical) Geodesy, Geomatics, Geoscience, Surveying, Navigation or similar;
You have understanding of geodesy, coordinate reference systems, GNSS etc;
You have experience with programming and you are willing to improve your skills and knowledge;
You are proficient in speaking and writing in English;
Experience with Python and Matlab is an advantage;
Experience with C#, C++, SQL databases is highly appreciated.
