Job Description

The Oil and Gas Sales Manager, North America, will be responsible for driving both sales execution and strategic business development within the oil and gas and energy sector across North America. This role will focus on expanding Fugro’s market presence in upstream, midstream (LNG plant development), and nearshore environments.

The role is accountable for identifying and nurturing opportunities, and ensuring high conversion rates from leads to signed contracts. Additionally, this position will play a pivotal role in long-term strategic partnerships, market expansion, and shaping Fugro’s positioning within key client organizations and industry consortia. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in business development, client engagement, commercial execution, and strategic relationship-building within the oil and gas industry.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape in oil and gas, LNG facilities, Hydrogen, and carbon capture and storage.

  • Develop and implement strategic business plans to achieve company growth objectives in the Energy sector.

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, including major energy companies, governmental bodies, and industry stakeholders.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for key clients, addressing their needs and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

  • Take on Key Account Management for the Americas Region for strategic accounts.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the specified focus markets across the entire region with the support of local sales and Commercial Teams.

  • Lead negotiations and close deals to secure new contracts and partnerships.

  • Collaborate with internal SMEs and teams, including commercial, operations, finance, and legal, to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction.

  • Create and nurture Leads and Opportunities in the CRM until they are handed over to the Business Line Commercial team for conversion.

  • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events.

  • Build and maintain a professional network to support business development activities and market intelligence gathering.

  • Must be able to hear and speak clearly and distinctly to conduct telephone or face-to-face discussions with clients and employees.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geosciences, or Business is preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development within the Energy sector, with a focus on oil and gas, LNG, Hydrogen, or carbon capture and storage.

  • Proven track record of successfully closing deals and driving business growth in North America.

  • Strong understanding of the Energy market, including regulatory, environmental, and technological trends.

  • Appreciation for customer’s capital project economic value drivers

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Proficiency in business development tools and CRM software.

  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to identifying and pursuing business opportunities..

  • Travel up to 50% for this job opportunity.
