Job Description

We are looking for a highly organized and experienced AI/ML Engineer to join our USV (Uncrewed Surface Vessel) team. Our innovative USV’s are widely celebrated within the maritime industry. Our products are used for subsea inspections, seafloor mapping and environmental monitoring. Using our USV’s reduces operational costs, human risks, and CO2 emissions
As AI/ML Vision Engineer, you are responsible for developing and supervising the model trainer for sensing (vision). But you also manage data models, and coordinate with consultants or third parties if needed.
This role involves setting up a comprehensive model trainer system using data from assets, user feedback, and updates to the model.
You work closely together with the Engineering Manager and Product manager to steer the strategy around AI and ML. In collaboration with the development team, you bring this strategy to life and integrate models into the software development lifecycle.

Your role

Model Training:

  • Develop and supervise the model trainer for sensing (vision);

  • Set up and manage data models for AI/ML applications.

System Setup:

  • Setup infrastructure to use continuous inflow of operational data to improve existing AI models;

  • Ensure continuous updates and improvements to the model.

Consultant Coordination:

  • Coordinate with consultants or third-party vendors to support AI/ML development;

  • Act as the main point of contact for external AI/ML resources.

Integration and Implementation:

  • Integrate AI/ML models into the software development lifecycle;

  • Validate and benchmark models to allow reliable operation in the offshore environment.

Your trackrecord

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field;

  • Proficiency in Python, C++, and other relevant programming languages;

  • Experience in developing and deploying AI/ML models;

  • Strong understanding of data management and model training techniques;

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills;

  • Proactive mindset with the ability to build solutions independently or with partners.
