Job Description

Fugro is embarking on an exciting journey to accelerate growth and value creation with a new Procurement & Supply Chain Management (P&SCM) organization. As a Maritime Purchaser, you will play a key role in delivering the most competitive cost and value base for our vessel organization and by contributing to building a strong purchasing organization. You will report to the Purchasing Supervisor of our Shared Service Centre.

Your role

• Purchase goods and services for the maritime fleet organization of Fugro.

• Obtain quotes and negotiate the best costing, delivery, and quality for project-related goods or services.

• Work with category management to optimize our category strategies and supplier base.

• Manage supplier and vessel team interactions, create and send purchase orders, and ensure timely delivery of goods and services to our warehouse and/or directly to our vessels.

• Contribute to departmental and global KPIs for spend under control, delivery performance, and savings.

• Participate in multidisciplinary vessel meetings.

• Attend Fleet management meetings and Procurement management meetings.

• Assist in implementing best-in-class purchasing practices to control third-party expenditure, reduce bottom-line costs, and improve cash flow.

• Adopt a collaborative, communicative, and engaging approach with business stakeholders onshore and at sea, such as vessel managers, vessel crew, 3rd party logistics teams and suppliers. Educational requirements:

• Completed technical and/or commercial bachelor’s degree.

• Preferred NEVI I, CIPS or equivalent certification.

• Relevant work experience within the Maritime industry or Naval architecture, Mechanical engineering, or equivalent is a plus.

• Strong sense of commercialism, good communication skills, and partnering abilities.

• Analytical and process-oriented mindset.

• Service-oriented and supportive to the business.

• Project management skills.

• Good oral and written command of English.

• Good oral and written command of Dutch is a plus.
