Job Description
Fugro is seeking a Survey Engineer to join our Marine Asset Integrity department based in Nootdorp. The department specializes in offshore Positioning, Survey Construction (PCS) and Inspection projects globally.
As a Survey Engineer, you are an integral part of the Offshore Survey Team, focused on mobilisation and operation of positioning and survey equipment, including acquisition and quality control of data onboard offshore vessels. The role of a Survey Engineer is varied and offers the opportunity to not only set up, test and operate a variety of innovative, market-leading survey and positioning systems, such as Fugro’s Vision Technology and Low Logistics Autonomous Underwater Vehicle, but also to collect, arrange and present results from various survey sensors.
Your role
Assist in the mobilisation and demobilisation of various vessels for offshore survey projects;
Responsible for the repair, preventative maintenance and testing of equipment offshore as required;
Assist in performing calibration of survey sensors and equipment conforming to established calibration standards;
Perform various survey tasks as part of the survey offshore team;
Complete all logbook, fault reports and administrative duties according to Fugro’s guidelines;
Support and encourage continuous improvement of the company’s processes, including safety program and quality management system.
What you bring along
BSc or equivalent in relevant electronics / IT related discipline OR equivalent vocational qualifications;
You are familiar with or have an understanding of commonly used survey sensors, e.g. GNSS, Gyro, MRU, USBL and ideally MBES, USBL, LBL, INS and Digital Video;
You have a sound understanding of the principles of real-time positioning, data acquisition and data QC;
You are experienced in implementation of Preventative Maintenance Systems, fault finding and reporting;
You are proficient in the use of CAD and online survey software packages;
You are an excellent communicator with good English language skills (verbal and written) and are able to form good working relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels.
