Job Description

Fugro has a wide range of engineering services means that we can respond professionally to your geotechnical engineering requirements, both onshore and nearshore. Our geoscientists and engineers have expertise in guiding data collection programs, identifying and analyzing geohazards, advising on foundation siting and design, and routing roads, pipelines, and cables.

The Project Manager will take full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments. The role will be responsible for planning and developing engineering projects concerned with unique or controversial issues. This involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation, and development of novel concepts and approaches.  You will manage and conduct both simple and complex projects and pursuits.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.

  • Participate in selecting project teams, and assign duties to the project team, monitor their progress, and check accuracy of completed work.

  • Provide review of proposals and reports.

  • Produce accurate and timely invoices with the ability to collect fees from clients in a timely manner.

  • Serve as the technical specialist for the company in the application of advanced theories, concepts, principles, and processes for an assigned area of responsibility.

  • Mentor direct reports with the purpose of professional development, publish engineering texts, make presentations, give lectures and provide training.

  • Maintain meaningful involvement for professional organizations.

  • Assist in business development, recruitment, and hiring.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.

  • Master's or Ph.D. degree from a university in Geotechnical Engineering or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 5+ years of relative experience in geotechnical engineering, focusing on infrastructure or consultancy experience.

  • Licensed Professional Engineer is preferred

  • Effective client relationship management with a dedicated client base and the proven ability to produce annual revenue.

  • Proven leadership experience regarding business development and business improvement processes is preferred.

  • Possess a valid passport and current driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.

  • Able to negotiate technical, commercial, legal, ethical, and sometimes abstract concepts and communicate effectively and positively with internal and external stakeholders at operational, management, and executive decision-making levels and statutory authorities.

  • Stay abreast of current professional practices, periodicals, and technological advancements.

  • Travel up to 25% for this job opportunity.
