Job Description

Are you a one-(wo)man army ready to take on hands-on challenges? As Operational Risk Lead, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and compliance of our operations. You will have the unique opportunity to be part of the OE team and work closely with our Executive Leadership Team.

You’ll expand your knowledge and experience in risk management and continuous improvement. You will be driving cross-functional collaboration, building resilience by navigating complex risk scenarios, increasing agility and adaptability, integrating process and control performance. You will establish and maintain an integrated risk and control framework for Operational Risk Management (ORM). You will also design and deliver training programs to elevate regional capabilities in risk management. Additionally, you’ll conduct thorough risk assessments and collaborate with various teams to foster a culture of risk awareness and proactive risk management.

We seek a strategic thinker who balances short-term and long-term goals in risk management, and an influencer who can embed a culture of risk awareness and proactive management. The ideal candidate will spot and mitigate potential risks, excel in risk identification and strategy development, and effectively communicate risk-related information at all levels. You will report to the Global Quality Director and work closely with the OE team to align practices with our quality and continuous improvement goals.

Your role

  • You will develop risk management strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks;

  • You conduct comprehensive risk assessments and analyses to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities and develop and implement risk mitigation plans;

  • You will monitor and report on the effectiveness of risk management strategies and initiatives;

  • You investigate quality events to identify root causes and develop corrective actions, ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices, and regularly update and manage the Organizational Handbook to reflect current risk management practices;

  • You design and deliver training programs to elevate regional capabilities in risk management, aligning with our organizational goals, and provide training and support to our employees on risk management practices and procedures;

  • You establish and maintain an integrated Risk and Control framework for Operational Risk Management (ORM), drive the implementation of Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tools to support an integrated view of ERM and ORM.

  • You will coordinate the development of regional risk heat maps and consolidate them into a global risk overview;

  • You drive continuous improvement by integrating process and control performance, and strengthen the ORM framework by defining operational risk types, setting risk appetites, and updating the internal control framework;

  • You ensure the alignment of ORM with the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) approach, including security, HSSE, and project risks.

Your trackrecord

  • You have a minimum of 5-10 years of experience in risk management within a project organization;

  • You have proven experience in implementing risk management systems and tools;

  • You possess strong analytical skills with a track record of conducting thorough risk assessments;

  • You demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams;

  • You have in-depth knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and best practices;

  • You excel in conveying risk-related information effectively at all levels with excellent communication skills.
