Our love of exploration and technical expertise help us to provide our clients with invaluable insights. We source and make sense of the most relevant Geo-data for their needs, so they can design, build and operate their assets more safely, sustainably and efficiently. But we’re always looking for new talent to take the next step with us. For bright minds who enjoy meaningful work and want to push our pioneering spirit further. For individuals who can take the initiative but work well within a team.
The role:
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting lab operations by carrying out standard laboratory tests, assisting colleagues in carrying out non-standard laboratory tests, cleaning up test settings and working within clearly defined standard operating procedures.
You will be involved with performing Thermal Conductivity and Electrical Resistivity testing, data entry and the calibration of laboratory equipment.
Who we’re looking for:
We are seeking a Laboratory Technician with an interest in geotechnical and geological logging, soil and rock sample processing, and testing. The ideal candidate will be naturally confident, will be a strong communicator and will be interested in problem solving.
Key Responsibilities:
Process and log soil and rock samples to relevant standards (e.g., BS5930, Eurocode 7, ISO).
Perform geotechnical and geological logging, soil and rock description, and soil testing.
Conduct Thermal Conductivity and Electrical Resistivity testing.
Accurately record and process testing data.
Enter data into spreadsheets and in-house programs (e.g., GeODin, GERRIT).
Calculate test results and verify data accuracy.
QA/QC collected data and results.
Assist with equipment calibration, maintenance, and inventory.
Train and develop team members.
Produce or assist in the production of reports.
Adhere to the company's QHSE policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in geotechnical and geological logging.
Proficiency in data entry and processing using relevant software.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Familiarity with relevant standards and procedures.
Commitment to quality, health, safety, and environmental policies.
If you are a dedicated professional with a passion for geotechnical engineering, we would love to hear from you!
